Zero Deaths! PewDiePie x Atmosgames Create New 2D Platform Game

On February 14, indie games developer Thomas Brush dared PewDiePie to dare him to make a game for him in only 14 days (yes, you read all of that correctly). PewDiePie, of course, accepted the challenge. Slightly more than 14 days later, the result is Zero Deaths, a post-apocalyptic action-adventure game about PewDiePie’s resurrection from the ashes of the Sub-Bot War of 2019.

Atmosgames is the company behind the publishing and the main developer is Thomas Brush. This game sets in a post-modern world in 2033, where everything has been taken over by T-Series. The game starts in PewDiePie’s room, where he used to record his videos back in 2019. All of the elements of Pewds’ room are in a state of disrepair, including the Pew News neon sign sitting askew, flickering in melancholy.

While playing through the early stages of the game, PewDiePie could not stop smiling, at one point exclaiming “Dude, I want that Pew News sign, that’s so sick!”

Now, I’m not supposed to give my opinion, buuut… it’s well within the realm of possibility that we might have an extra neon sign laying around the official Pew News studio, which could absolutely find its way into Pewds’ hands, if he were to contact us and request one. Seriously, hit us up and we will make it happen.

As you make your way through this post-apocalyptic world, you will have to fight enemies, collect monetization points and earn new abilities. The game doesn’t just hand you the victory; you will need nearly all of those monetization points to make your way through some of the levels.

Zero Deaths development was live-streamed by Thomas Brush and the story line was made by all the viewers collectively. It all started when Thomas Brush made a video challenging Felix to challenge him to create a game within 14 days. PewDiePie accepted the challenge, so Thomas was “forced” to create Zero Deaths in only two weeks. Zero Deaths’ trailer was published on YouTube on March 11.

Thank you so much Felix, my subscribers, Felix’s subscribers, and the incredibly creative Reddit community for coming up with these amazing ideas! So much love. Oh, and thanks Kelsey for letting me work so late. I love you!

Zero Deaths features a very unique set of graphics and PewDiePie’s own voice has been added to the game. There are also a lot of inside jokes and references hidden in the game, such as Mr. Beast, G-Fuel, demonetization, Ben Shapiro, Brad, Marzia, Edgar, 🅱-Series, and Dr. Phil.

Again, I am not supposed to give my own personal opinion, but Zero Deaths is an amazing project. Its visual style, audio design and platforming are great. However, it’s unlikely you’ll get through it with zero deaths

Zero Deaths is a free game. However, before downloading the game, consider tipping the developer, to support him as he continues with the game development, and live streams it every day on his own channel.
